The Internation Center For Reiki Training

1ICRT

In 1988 William Rand founded the Center for Spiritual Development as a non-profit organization. Its purpose was to provide spiritual development classes and sessions that included the use of Reiki therapy, past life regression therapy, guided meditation and neurolinguistic programming. In 1989, Reiki training was added to the curriculum and in 1991 the center name was changed to The Center for Reiki Training, as Reiki became his only focus. In 1997, he added International to the name because of the classes being taught in foreign countries and because of the number of students who were traveling to the US to take classes from them.

The Reiki training offered by ICRT has evolved over the years to include a number of methods. The style taught is a combination of the Usui/Hayashi method as taught by Mrs. Takata combined with a style based on Tibetan shamanism called Raku Kai. In 1998, after reviewing the research done in Japan, William added the Japanese Reiki techniques to ICRT's training.

There have been other additions that were developed by ICRT including Aura Clearing, the Healing Attunement, Beaming, and the Karuna system of Reiki. Scanning was developed independently by ICRT in 1993, which closely parallels Byosen scanning; the technique developed and used by Dr. Usui, but which was not known in the USA until 1997.

In 1990 the Teacher Certification program was started and in 1997 the name was changed to the Licensed Teacher Program.

A newsletter was started in 1989 that developed into a full size magazine in 2002. The www.Reiki.org website was started in 1995 and the free online newsletter began in 2001.

While ICRT now practices its own style of Reiki, it acknowledgse the value offered by other schools and lineages. ICRT encourages students to research the Reiki training available to them and use their intuitive guidance in deciding whom to take classes from.

ICRT encourages all Reiki people to work together in harmony to heal themselves, their families, friends and clients and with love, send Reiki to bring peace to all people on earth.

1The ICRT Logo

The Japanese kanji in the center of the logo means "Reiki," which is spiritually guided life-force energy. The upward pointing traingle represents humanity moving toward the Divine (God/Goddess/All That Is). The downward pointing traingle represent the God/Goddess/All That Is moving toward humanity. Because the two triangles are united and balanced they represent humanity and God/Goddess/All That Is working together in harmony. The inner sixteen petaled flower symbolizes the throat chakra or communication. The outer twelve petaled flower symbolizes the heart chakra or love. The complete logo represent Reiki uniting God/Goddess/All That Is and humanity in harmony through the communication of love.

The Logo is the Registered Service Mark of The International Center For Reiki Training.

Open now to receive Reiki from THE REIKI MASTER.
