If you have taken a given class level with me, or with another teacher (a copy of your certificate must be provided), you can repeat the same level for a second time at reduced cost.

If you bring a new first time student with you to the class, the review fee is waived.

Reiki I &II for returning students is $100 (or $50 for individual classes)

Reiki ART for returning students is $100

Reiki III/Master for returning students is $175

If you have taken all 4 class levels with me, you can repeat the same level for a second time FREE.

Additional refresher classes will require a $25 per class fee.

Founder of Usui Reiki Ryoho -- Dr. Mikao Usui

Dr. Usui was born August 15, 1865 in the village of Taniai, Jpapan. He later became a medical doctor. In 1914 when his personal and business life was failing he felt called to travel to Mt. Kurama, a holy mountain, where he enrolled in Isyu Guo, a twenty-one day training course sponsored by the Tendai Buddhist Temple located on the mountain. During his training, which consisted of fasting, meditation, chanting and prayers, he received a vision, at which time the great Reiki energy entered his crown chakra. He found that his healing abilities were greatly enhanced and that he had received a new gift--the ability to give healing to others without depleting his own energy.

Dr. Usui returned to his work and began using his new healing ability to help others. In 1922 he moved to Tokyo and started a healing society which he named Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai (Usui Reiki Healing Society), as well as open a Reiki Clinic. There he taught classes and gave treatements. When Dr. Usui died on March 9, 1926, Mr. J. Ushida toke over as president of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai. Mr. Ushida was followed by Mr. Iichi Taketomi, Mr. Yoshiharu Watanabe, Mr. Toyoichi Wanami, Ms. Kimiko Koyama and the current successor to Usui Sensie is Mr. Kondo who became president in 1998. There is no "lineage bearer" or "Grand Master" of the organization started by Usui Sensei, only the sucession of presidents listed above.

Different Ways of Understanding
Negative Energy

Many people try to divide energy into postive or negative, good or bad. But this does not match my experience of energy. I have long been looking for ways of thinking about energy that don't use these paradigms.

Energy can be either still or in motion. This is very similar to the idea of Yin and Yang. Energy that is too still or in too much motion can create problems by making the body too cold or constricted or too hot or expansive. Reiki evens out the energetic temperature body, allowing the body to come into balance.

In a book written in Japan in the 1700s, they refer to energy that is not healthy can be either congealed (like gelatin/jello) or constricted. Often times I think of it as snarls.. You can even comb someone's energy as if it was hair and lift and release the 'snarls'.

Colds often feel like energy snot around the head. Pain often feels like heat or prickles over the affected area.. Nausea often feels like a fluctuation in energy over the belly. Often energy blocks feel like room temperature frozen ice.

I think of the person's body the bad energy is attached to as what is causing the problem, sort of like the way a magnet affects iron filings.. once you pull the filings away from the magnet it dissolves, just like energy blocks pulled away from a person and put on the ground dissolve in a few minutes.

Begin to experiment with different ways of feeling energy, and thinking about it.. Experiment with how to change the state of the energy.
